Following the restructuring of the RWE Group, Dr. Arndt Neuhaus, CEO of RWE Deutschland AG, will step down from his positions within the Group ahead of schedule.
He will leave the Group by mutual agreement on 31 January 2016, bringing more than 14 years of service with RWE to an end.
Neuhaus, whose academic background includes both chemistry as well as business and administration, began his career with the company in 2001 as head of Strategic Planning for RWE AG. After a few years as SVP of Group development and strategy for RWE AG, he took over as CFO of RWE Rhein-Ruhr AG in 2005, and then as CFO of RWE Energy AG from 2008. The following year he became Chairman of the Board of RWE Rheinland-Westfalen-Netz AG, and since January 2011 he has been CEO of RWE Deutschland AG. From the beginning of 2014 until October 2015 he simultaneously headed the international retail business of RWE.
“It has been a great pleasure to work alongside top-quality colleagues and employees in recent years as we have paved the way forward to help the Group shape a new era of innovation with dedication and success,” Neuhaus said. “I’d like to thank everyone involved and wish all of you the very best as you deal with the challenges that lie ahead.”
In reply, Dr. Rolf Martin Schmitz, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of RWE AG, Group COO and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of RWE Deutschland AG, expressed thanks to Dr. Neuhaus for everything he has achieved during his time with RWE. “He is an excellent energy manager who has helped shape the development of our supply and distribution networks business. We wish him all the best for the future.”
At its session today, the Supervisory Board of RWE Deutschland AG accepted the early termination of Dr. Neuhaus’s period as CEO and member of the Executive Board.
Dr. Neuhaus’s duties will be assumed by Bernd Böddeling, CFO of RWE Deutschland AG, until further notice.
