Essen, 23 October 2023

RWE joins the public expressions of solidarity with Israel from the communities of politics, society and business. In particular, the company is following the call made by the German President during his speech at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin yesterday. RWE takes a firm stand against all forms of hatred, terror and anti-Semitism.

RWE condemns the horrific terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel and is shocked by the inhuman cruelties. The civilian population in Israel and Gaza is experiencing unspeakable suffering as a result.

It is understandable that Israel must protect the citizens of its country. And at the same time, it is tragic that Hamas' attack is destroying the long-standing efforts to achieve peace in the region. RWE very much hopes that the diplomatic efforts of many countries will lead to a de-escalation of the extremely tense situation.

One of the company’s most important values is diversity and inclusion. RWE rejects all kinds of hate, terror and prejudice that is being stirred up across the world, just as it rejects anti-Semitism.

Since the escalation in the Middle East, incidents against Jewish communities in Germany and other western countries have increased. This is unacceptable. RWE stands in solidarity with the Jewish citizens.
