As Production Manager you will be responsible for the safe, economical and uninterrupted operation as well as continuous optimization of the wind farm Thor (1080MW, 72 WTGs),  including an offshore substation and an onshore substation and associated equipment / asset. The wind farm is currently under construction.
 
Your future responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the new wind farm’s operational setup jointly with the General Manager and the Team Lead Asset Integrity Management and ensure operational readiness from day one.
  • Recruiting a great operations team and setting them up for success 
  • Management of the operations team which will be based in Thorsminde Port as well as coordination of the relevant external service providers.
  • Act as responsible person to ensure safe, compliant, economical and uninterrupted operations of the windfarm as well as control of internal and external requirements
  • Responsible for driving excellence in the implementation and continuous improvement of the operations strategy in accordance with the overall strategy of the RWE Offshore Fleet.
  • Setting of short, medium and long term operational targets and responsible for target achievement in line with overall operational targets of the windfarm and the wider offshore fleet
  • Responsible for the implementation of (work safety) technical improvement measures within the wind farm, taking into account prioritization and available resources 
  • Efficient shift planning taking into account seasonal offshore demand
  • Proactive support and alignment in the area of contract management in close cooperation with the further site team
  • Ensuring a smooth interaction of the working shifts as well as continuous optimization of shift handovers
  • Engaging an managing external offshore personnel incl. contracting
  • Embracing the RWE leadership values to create an open, constructive and consistent working atmosphere within the operations team. 


Work Safety:

  • Responsibility for the operational implementation of all work safety regulations and processes to ensure smooth and safe offshore operations. 
  • Ensure "Zero Incident Policy" as well as compliance with internal HSE guidelines. 
  • Ensuring registration and briefing of in-house and external personnel
  • Ensuring the lawful use of safety equipment within the wind farm incl. PPE of all employees 
  • Responsible for the execution of safety exercises

Maintenance and repair

  • Maximize production by ensuring the best possible execution of maintenance and repair activities with optimal use of resources
  • Responsible for ensuring that all systems of offshore wind farm operations are monitored and operated in accordance with company specifications, applicable standards and technical regulations
  • Responsible that all processes for the complete documentation of all performed work in SAP PM/MM are implemented. 


Logistics & Transport

  • Responsible for the selection of the means of transport (Crew Transfer Vessel or Helicopter) according to the urgency of the work, taking into account profitability. 
  • Responsible for implementing and continuously optimizing all warehouse management processes so that the availability of spare parts, tools and consumables can be permanently guaranteed. 


Your profile:

  • Completed engineering degree or state-certified technical engineer
  • At least 8 years of experience in relevant areas of the energy industry 
  • Industry-leading knowledge of the organization and operation of offshore wind farms 
  • Solution and decision oriented
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills to ensure effective operations and execute continuous improvement initiatives as a basis for successful implementation of strategic goals.
  • In-depth experience in managing staff across multiple levels
  • Extensive knowledge in technical and commercial management of power plants as well as offshore specific topics such as logistics
  • Strong focus on occupational safety and implementation of occupational safety and environmental standards
  • Extensive knowledge in the application of relevant national and international norms and standards 
  • As this is a site-based role, we would like you to live within commuting distance of Thorsminde.

About Thor
RWE is building Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm. Thor offshore wind farm will be built 22 kilometres off the coast of Thorsminde on the west coast of Jutland with a capacity of more than 1 GW. 72 units of Siemens Gamesa’s flagship SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines are planned to be installed. Once fully operational in 2027, Thor will produce green electricity to more than 1 million Danish households.
