Samantha, what does Power mean to you?

I own my power at work by not feeling like I have to fit into any one box. Whether it's me in high heels or high vis, it’s still me. At first, I was careful about how I showed up and how I might be perceived, but as I've grown, I've learned that I can be both. I can be caring, empathetic, and powerful and in charge.

What is your biggest superpower?

My biggest superpower at work is being able to be in the office when I need to be in the office or go out on site to be with my team and feeling comfortable in both places at once.

Why did you become part of the Power Looks Good On You Initiative?

I’m here today representing the U.S. offshore industry, a brand-new sector that needs everyone, including women like me. Being part of this initiative is important to me because it’s about visibility and participation – about showing that women belong in every part of this industry. It’s crucial to involve diverse perspectives from the start.

What advice would you give to other women in renewables?

I would tell other women entering the renewables industry to find a mentor – some you can look up to. Learn from their experiences and successes, and use that insight to carve out your own path. There’s so much to gain from understanding what worked for others, but it’s equally important to make it your own. Embrace every part of what makes you unique, even the parts that might feel unconventional.
