Michelle Simon works as a WTG Offshore Technician and is part of our Power Looks Good On You initiative as one of our inspiring female role models within #TeamRWE. We spoke with Michelle about her path from car mechanics to becoming an Offshore Technician. Michelle discusses how Power has driven her success and why she believes there’s room for more women in offshore energy.

Michelle, what does Power mean to you?

To me, power means getting back up.

What is your biggest superpower?

My biggest superpower at work is stamina. How will other people know, what you’re capable of?

When do you feel most powerful?

I feel most powerful when I get on site just in the beginning of the shift and I realise, I really made it here.

What advice would you give to other women in renewables?

I advise other women in renewables to keep go straight ahead and not doubt yourself. I have a feeling that being an Offshore Technician is something more women want to do, but maybe they’re afraid of something. Maybe it’s judgement, or they think the work is too heavy. But it’s just not the truth. We can do all the stuff the boys can do.
