

Based on our latest shareholder structure analysis, an estimated 88% of the RWE shares outstanding were held by institutional investors at the end of 2024, with 12% being owned by individuals (including employee shareholders). Institutional investors from North America held 24% of our capital stock. This investor group accounted for 21% in Germany, a combined 15% in the United Kingdom and Ireland, 12% in Continental Europe excluding Germany, and another 12% in the Middle East. Our single-largest shareholder was Qatar Holding, with a stake of 9.1%, followed by US asset management company BlackRock with 4.9%.

Under the German Securities Trading Act (Wertpapierhandelsgesetz), holders of voting rights of a domestic issuer must notify that issuer and simultaneously the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) of the level of their holding whenever it reaches, exceeds or falls below specified thresholds. These thresholds are 3%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 50% and 75% of the issuer’s voting rights.
